Builders in Westminster

Queen's Park · Maida Vale · Bayswater · St John's Wood · Marylebone · Belgravia · Pimlico

We work across Westminster, from Queen’s Park and Maida Vale near our W10 base to Belgravia and Pimlico. Past projects here include homes in Maida Vale, Pimlico, Belgravia and Knightsbridge.

Planning in Westminster

Westminster has 56 conservation areas. Basements need planning permission everywhere in the city, and eight conservation areas, including the Queen’s Park Estate in W10, have Article 4 directions on minor alterations such as windows, doors and roofing materials.

  • Mansards are the most common form of roof extension in Westminster, but roof extensions are not usually accepted on complete terraces with an unbroken roofline.
  • Queen’s Park Estate: the council’s design guide says dormers and rooflights are not permitted on front elevations, and that rear extensions may be acceptable if they don’t seriously reduce neighbours’ light and amenity.
